Young Minds, Bright Talents: Bosco Kala Utsav with Std 5 & 6

On 22nd September 2025, Bosco Kala Utsav for students of Std. V and VI was held at Don Bosco High School, Matunga, from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. The event gave students an opportunity to explore their talents, gain confidence on stage, and enjoy the spirit of creativity. The audience for the programme included the enthusiastic students of Std. IV, V, and VI.

The day’s programme began with a Social Science Exhibition,inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Godfrey D’Souza and Fr. Flovi D’Souza, where the Std. V displayed models on time, history, symbols, the solar system, and the evolution of mankind, while Std. VI presented projects on civilizations, India’s physical divisions, greenhouse gases, transport, volcanoes, and globes. The exhibition helped the students improve their presentation skills, teamwork, and confidence while sharing information.
After this, from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm, the cultural performances were conducted in Fr. Bernard Hall. The session started with the English Vocals, where the participants from Std. V and VI sang melodious songs in English. Following the vocals, the stage came alive with instrumental performances. The judges for the competition were Mr.Sagar Kotak and Mr.Roney Gomes. Students showcased their skills on instruments such as the tabla, mridang, guitar, and keyboard. The judges appreciated the hard work of the participants and motivated them to nurture their talents.

The focus then shifted to the English Elocution Competition, held for students of Std. V and VI in Fr. Bernard Hall. The participants spoke confidently on topics such as The Importance of friendship etc. The judges for the competition were Mrs. Matilda and another judge. The Std. VI students, who formed the audience, learned valuable lessons about effective communication and the power of words.

Meanwhile, the Hindi Elocution Competition was conducted in the Conference Hall with the Std. V students. The theme for this event was Hasya Kavita (Humorous Poetry). Students presented amusing and lighthearted poems, including topics such as Class Monitor which filled the hall with laughter. The judges were Mr. Ganesh Kamble and Master Saksham Mithilesh, who encouraged the participants to keep developing their love for the Hindi language. The Std. V students not only enjoyed the humour but also learned how poetry can be both entertaining and expressive. The event concluded at 3:00 pm with the announcement of winners for each competition. The young achievers were applauded by their peers and teachers.

The Bosco Kala Utsav (Day 3) was a day of discovery and growth for the students of Std. V and VI. The students learnt the importance of participation, creativity, and celebrating each other’s talents.
