Report on the State-Level Training of Trainers (TOT) for the New Curriculum

The State-Level Training of Trainers (TOT) on the implementation of the new curriculum for Standards III and IV of the SSC Board was organized by the Bombay Municipal Corporation at Prabhodhan Thackeray Municipal School, Sewri. The training was conducted in two batches. The first batch of teachers attended the programme on 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 8th July, while the second batch attended on 9th, 10th, 11th, and 13th July. The sessions were led by the esteemed resource persons Mr. Hargovind Chaudhary, Mr. Jitendra Dhamai, and Mr. Rajan Rathod. Each day began with the National Anthem followed by a prayer, setting a positive and disciplined tone for the training. Teachers actively participated in the sessions and engaged in meaningful discussions on the implementation of the revised curriculum.

The resource persons provided a detailed explanation of the revised syllabus and learning outcomes for English, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies (EVS I & II). They also explained the new assessment pattern, wherein these three subjects will be evaluated on 100 marks, comprising 60 marks for Formative Assessment and 40 marks for Summative Assessment, with the summative component divided into 30 marks for the written examination and 10 marks for oral assessment. For co-scholastic subjects such as Physical Education, Work Experience, and Art, assessment will consist of 70 marks for Formative Assessment and 30 marks for Summative Assessment. Special emphasis was placed on the Holistic Progress Report Card, where teachers were guided to assess students using at least five observation points based on awareness, sensitivity, creativity, participation, and overall development, thereby promoting competency-based and continuous evaluation.

The training also emphasized the integration of art, culture, music, and physical education into classroom teaching to make learning more joyful, inclusive, and experiential. The Resource persons explained different approaches to art integration and demonstrated how creative activities could strengthen conceptual understanding across subjects. Teachers were introduced to a range of innovative teaching methodologies, digital and classroom tools, and effective techniques for guiding students in project-based learning. The programme proved to be highly enriching and informative, enhancing teachers' understanding of the new curriculum and equipping them with practical strategies to implement it confidently and effectively in their classrooms.

At the conclusion of the training programme, the teacher trainees were presented with relieving orders and certificates in recognition of their successful participation.
