On 13th September, 2025 Don Bosco Primary School, Matunga celebrated Happy Saturday with great enthusiasm. The day was filled with curiosity, creativity, and cultural expression, as each class participated in unique activities that blended fun with learning.
Std. I – Floating Fish Experiment
The youngest learners explored the world of science through the Floating Fish Experiment. With excitement in their eyes, they observed how paper fish could float and move on water with the help of soap, introducing them to the concept of surface tension. This simple yet fascinating activity sparked wonder and encouraged scientific thinking in little minds.
Std. II – How Leaves Drink Water
The second graders conducted a hands-on experiment on How Leaves Drink Water. Using coloured water and white leaves/flowers, they watched how the liquid slowly travelled upward through the stem, revealing the process of capillary action. The activity nurtured observation skills while helping them understand the hidden wonders of nature.
Std. III – Cultural Day
Std. III celebrated a vibrant Cultural Day, where students came dressed in traditional and international attire and showcased that the world is like a rainbow with many kinds of people who should live harmoniously to make this world a beautiful place to live in. Through songs, dances, and a well enacted skit they gave a powerful message that when hope is alive we can dream big and achieve big. The activity not only gave them an opportunity to display their talents but also instilled respect for traditions, unity, cultural heritage and a feeling of belonging to a larger community- the world at large.
Std. IV – Dancing Popcorn Activity
The fourth graders had an exciting time with the Dancing Popcorn Activity, where corn kernels bounced and moved in water with the help of baking soda and vinegar. This fun-filled experiment demonstrated chemical reactions and the release of carbon dioxide, making science both entertaining and educational to our students.

On 20th September, 2025 Don Bosco Primary School celebrated Happy Saturday with a vibrant blend of learning and creativity. The day was dedicated to activities that enriched language skills, communication, vocabulary and overall confidence among students. Each class took part in thoughtfully designed sessions that turned learning into a joyful experience.
Std. I – English Phonics
The youngest learners dived into the world of phonics through interactive games, sounds, and letter blends. With engaging activities, students practiced pronunciation and sound recognition, building a strong foundation for reading and communication. Their enthusiasm made the classroom come alive with voices echoing new words and cheerful participation.
Std. II – Cultural Day
The second graders celebrated a colourful Cultural Day, proudly showcasing their traditions, costumes, and performances. Through songs, dance, and storytelling, they highlighted the beauty of India’s diversity. The event encouraged respect for cultural values while instilling pride in their heritage, making the classroom a stage of unity in diversity.
Std. III – English Word Formation
Std. III students engaged in a lively Word Formation Activity, where they created new words using prefixes, suffixes, and root words. This not only sharpened their vocabulary but also enhanced their creative thinking and spelling skills. The activity turned into a friendly competition, filling the room with excitement and confidence.
Std. IV – English Vocabulary Building
The fourth graders participated in stimulating Vocabulary Building Activities, including word games, synonyms–antonyms challenges, and picture-based learning. These exercises improved their language fluency, comprehension, and expression, equipping them with stronger communication skills for the future.

Std. I – Memory Game on the Alphabet
The little learners of Std. I enjoyed a fun-filled Alphabet Memory Game. Through matching letters and recalling sounds, they strengthened their recognition skills while developing concentration and recall abilities. The activity not only reinforced their knowledge of alphabets but also made learning playful and exciting.
Std. II – Memory Check Game
Std. II students tested their observation and retention skills with a challenging Memory Check Game. With keen eyes and quick thinking, they practiced focus and attention, essential skills for their academic journey. Laughter, excitement, and healthy competition filled the classroom, making the activity both entertaining and educational.
Std. III – Preposition Activity
The third graders participated in a lively Preposition Activity, where they used their own body parts to act out words like under, over, besides, and between. This hands-on learning experience helped them grasp the concept of prepositions in a fun and memorable way. Their active involvement turned grammar into an enjoyable performance.
Std. IV – Quiz on the Human Body
Std. IV students engaged in a thought-provoking Quiz on the Human Body. Divided into teams, they answered questions on human organs, systems, and functions, showcasing their knowledge and quick thinking. The quiz encouraged teamwork, boosted confidence, and deepened their understanding of science in an interactive manner.
