Ms. Jessiya Sekar
“Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”
- Mother Teresa
Don Bosco Primary School, Matunga, celebrated Kindness Day on 29th June, 2026 with great enthusiasm and heartfelt participation by the young minds. The day aimed to nurture compassion, empathy, gratitude, and respect among students while reinforcing the significance of kindness in everyday life. The celebration commenced with inspiring kindness songs, thought-provoking videos on moral values, and a meaningful power point presentation by classroom discussions that encouraged children to understand that even the smallest act of kindness could create a lasting impact on others.
The students of Std I enthusiastically participated in a creative Ice Cream Cone Activity. They designed colourful ice cream cones and wrote two kind words on each scoop, promoting the use of positive and encouraging words. The children of Std II expressed their understanding of kindness by preparing vibrant Kindness Posters and a Tree of Kind Deeds, illustrating thoughtful actions that contribute towards creating a caring and harmonious environment. Their artistic creations reflected their growing awareness of the importance of kindness in daily life.
The students of Std III engaged in the meaningful Plant a Seed of Kindness activity along with the Honey Bee Craft. Using attractive cut-outs of seeds and bees, they completed the sentence, “I can be kind by…”, expressing their personal commitment towards practicing kindness through simple yet impactful actions. This activity beautifully conveyed the message that acts of kindness, like seeds, flourish and spread goodness wherever they are planted. The students of Std IV creatively designed beautiful Kindness Flowers by writing various acts of kindness on each petal. These flowers were later shared with a new friend, symbolising friendship, inclusivity, and the joy of spreading kindness.
Mst. Nathan Murray, a student of Std IV D shared his heartfelt reflections highlighting the impact of the day’s activities. He expressed that “Kindness can change everything. Let us make the world a better place with love and spread peace wherever we go.”
Ms. Meril Menezes, the Class teacher of Std IV A conveyed, “Kindness came alive today through creative learning, leaving every child with a smile and a heart full of compassion.”
Their reflections reaffirmed that Kindness Day had successfully nurtured young hearts and minds, leaving a lasting impression on everyone involved. The celebration concluded on a joyful note, leaving every child inspired to become a compassionate individual and a responsible member of society. Through these enriching activities, the young Boscoites successfully imbibed the enduring values of kindness, generosity, and empathy, making the celebration a memorable and meaningful learning experience for all.
