“All for God and for His Glory. In whatever you do, think of the Glory of God as your main goal”

-St. John Bosco

The Salesian family reveres  31st of January as a profoundly significant day, dedicated to honouring its beloved founder, educator, and spiritual guide—Saint John Bosco. This auspicious occasion serves as a reminder of his unwavering faith, selfless service, and lifelong commitment to the holistic development of young minds. The celebration of the feast day of our beloved patron saint, commenced with a soulful Mass at 8.00 a.m .  Fr. Godfrey D’Souza was the main celebrant, while our Fr. Flovi  D’souza, Fr. Ajoy Fernandes and Fr. Augustine Silveira  concelebrated the Eucharist, uniting teachers, students, and well-wishers in a collective expression of faith and gratitude.

The Eucharistic celebration was an expression of gratitude to God for the countless blessings bestowed upon the institutions through the intercession and legacy of Saint John Bosco. It served as a gentle reminder to all present to consciously include God in every moment of life, following the example set by the saint.

The Feast of St. John Bosco is a cherished and meaningful celebration for the entire Don Bosco Matunga community, encompassing students, parents, and teachers alike. Feast days such as these offer educators a valuable opportunity to introduce children to the lives and virtues of saints, inspiring them to imbibe noble values. In the days leading up to the celebration, teachers enlightened the students about the essence of belonging to the Don Bosco family, helping them understand its rich legacy and values.

The children were introduced to the life and mission of Saint John Bosco, particularly his compassionate efforts to uplift orphaned and homeless children through education. His belief in education as a powerful tool for transformation continues to inspire generations and remains the cornerstone of the Salesian mission.

Saint John Bosco integrated faith seamlessly into every aspect of his life. Whether he was working, studying, playing, or teaching, God remained central to his thoughts and actions. His life stands as a shining example of how faith can be lived joyfully and meaningfully in everyday moments.

The day ended with breakfast arranged for the staff.

May Saint John Bosco continue to be our guiding light, our beacon of hope, and our steadfast protector.
