Don Bosco High School, Matunga celebrated Father and Son Day with great joy and enthusiasm on Saturday, 7th March 2026. The celebration was centered around an inspiring theme

“Hope is the Light that Guides Our Dreams.”  The event aimed to strengthen the special bond between fathers and their sons by creating opportunities for shared experiences, fun activities, and meaningful interaction. Mrs. Kashmira Rodrigues and Mrs Jessiya Sekar welcomed the Members of the Management and everyone present for the occasion. The programme was organized in two sessions to ensure active participation of all students and their dads. The first session began at 9:00a.m for Std I and Std III, followed by a session at 10:30 a.m. for Std II and Std IV.

The celebration began with a beautiful Welcome Song, setting a cheerful and warm tone for the event. This was followed by a graceful Prayer Dance, which reflected gratitude and hope—the central message of the day. Students and their fathers then participated in exciting activities. The Spot Prize round brought laughter and excitement as the dads eagerly participated and took part in the fun challenges. One of the most enjoyable moments of the day was the dance performance by the fathers and their sons of Std I & II creating a lively and heartwarming atmosphere.

The excitement continued with games that encouraged teamwork and bonding between fathers and their sons. Mst. Evan Perepadan melodiously enthralled the audience. All the students along with their dads had a jam session which they really enjoyed.

The gathering was enriched by an inspiring message from the Rector Rev. Fr. Godfrey D’Souza and Principal Rev. Fr. Flovi D’Souza, who spoke about the importance of a father’s strength, guidance, love, and encouragement in shaping a child’s dreams and future. Their words beautifully connected with the theme of hope and family support.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the captain Mst. Kaden Rodrigues, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the fathers, teachers and students who contributed to the success of the event. The celebration ended with a joyful Thank You Song, leaving everyone with smiles and cherished memories.

The event also reflected the emotions of the participants. Mr. Surendran shared, “It was a wonderful experience to spend time with my son in his school. Activities like these strengthen our bond and create memories that we will always treasure.”

A student, Josh Melit of Std IV B, happily expressed, “I loved playing games and dancing with my dad today. It made me feel very happy because we enjoyed everything together.”

The Father and Son Day celebration was truly a memorable occasion that highlighted the importance of family, love, and hope. It brought fathers and sons closer together and reminded everyone that shared moments and encouragement from parents help guide children towards their dreams.
