Don Bosco High School, Primary Section – Prayer Service 2026-2027

The Primary Section of Don Bosco High School commenced the Academic Year 2026–2027 with a heartfelt and inspiring Prayer Service that brought together students, teachers, parents, and non-teaching staff as one united school family. The gathering provided a meaningful opportunity to seek God’s blessings and guidance for a fruitful year ahead.

Inspired by Don Bosco’s enduring values, the service highlighted four essential pillars of school life—learning, laughter, respect, and friendship. Reflecting the loving spirit of St. John Bosco’s words, “It is enough for me that you are young, for me to love you immensely,” the celebration fostered a sense of belonging, care, and unity among all present. The prayerful beginning set a positive tone for the year, encouraging every member of the school community to grow together in faith, knowledge, and mutual support.

The service opened joyfully with the hymn “All Things Bright and Beautiful”, reminding us that every child and every talent is part of God’s creation. Sir Frazer welcomed everyone as one community “from diverse homes and beliefs,” followed by a 20-second moment of silence. A powerful reflection followed: “Keep your minds open to new ideas, hearts open to kindness, and hands open to helping others.” – echoing the words of Dr. Seuss: “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

The Prayer of the Faithful became the heart of the gathering. Teachers prayed for wisdom and leadership. Students prayed for courage and patience. Parents prayed for gratitude and family well-being. Staff gave thanks for the school’s helpers. As Helen Keller put it, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” That unity was visible in every prayer offered.

The service closed with a call to action from the Leader: to keep the school clean, ensure mutual safety, and bring out the best in one another. The entire community then raised their voices for “We Are the World” – a reminder that learning goes beyond classrooms. As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.”

The Prayer Service wasn’t just the start of a new academic year. It was a promise: to grow together in spirit, learning and friendship.
