A warm and joyful celebration was held in school to mark the birthday of our respected School Administrator Rev. Fr. Orville Coutinho. The occasion began when he was ceremoniously escorted to the office by the Primary Captain and the Vice Captain, setting a cheerful tone for the gathering.

The celebrations commenced with a short prayer service, invoking God’s blessings upon him, his role as the School Administrator, and praying for his good health and the well-being of his family. It was a moment of gratitude and reflection for his many years of dedicated service to the school community.

Following the prayer, the celebration continued with the cutting of the birthday cake. Everyone joined together in singing “Happy Birthday,” creating a joyful and festive atmosphere. The Primary Captain then read a heartfelt address, expressing appreciation for his commitment and his contribution to the school and the school community.

As a token of gratitude and respect, he was felicitated with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

The Rector then shared a few words about the birthday celebrant. He highlighted that the entire maintenance and safety of the school are carefully overseen by him, and that he tirelessly ensures that all the needs of the school are met. Despite being 78 years old, he continues to work with remarkable dedication and takes great pride in doing his job well.

The birthday celebrant then addressed the gathering. He expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone for making the day special and for celebrating the gift of life with him. He also shared that although he may not always be able to personally meet and wish staff members on their birthdays, he remembers them in his prayers.

He concluded his speech by sharing an important message about cleanliness and responsibility. He encouraged the students to reflect on their actions, asking what the value of education is if one litters the streets for someone else to clean. He also recalled how, in the past, children sometimes wrote their names on desks to be remembered, but reminded everyone that people should be remembered through the love in their hearts rather than by damaging school property.

He further mentioned that students sometimes play football with plastic bottles after the bell rings, and gently questioned whether those bottles are picked up and placed in the dustbin afterward. His words served as a thoughtful reminder for students to care for their surroundings and take responsibility for their actions.

The celebration ended on this meaningful note, leaving the students with a valuable message to take home and reflect upon.
