A Joyful Birthday Celebration of Our Head Teacher

The Primary Section of Don Bosco High School, Matunga celebrated the birthday of their beloved Head Teacher, Mrs. Griselda Fernandes, on 4th September,2026 with great joy, warmth and enthusiasm. The celebration was organised to honour Head Teacher’s dedicated service, inspiring leadership, guidance and unwavering commitment towards the students, teachers and the institution. The presence of the esteemed dignitaries our Rector, Rev. Fr. Godfrey D’Souza, Principal Rev. Fr. Flovi D’Souza, Administrator Fr. Orville Coutinho, and KG Coordinator Mrs. Rochelle D’Souza—made the occasion even more special and memorable.

The programme commenced with a prayer led by the Co-ordinators, seeking God’s choicest blessings upon the birthday celebrant. The prayer expressed gratitude for the gift of Mrs. Griselda’s life and prayed for her good health, happiness, peace, wisdom, strength and continued success. After the prayer, the boys presented a beautiful song, “I Thank My God,” expressing gratitude and joy on this special occasion. Their melodious singing added warmth and cheer to the celebration. The staff conveyed their heartfelt wishes through a special birthday address delivered by Mrs. Kashmira Rodrigues on behalf of the staff. This was followed by a warm and thoughtful address by the Vice Captain, Master Asher Ribeiro, representing the students. Their words reflected the love, respect and admiration that the entire school community holds for Mrs. Griselda Fernandes.

The celebration continued with the presentation of a beautiful handmade birthday card, lovingly prepared by the talented teachers as a token of appreciation and affection. Fr. Orville Coutinho presented the card to Mrs. Griselda. The much-awaited cake-cutting ceremony followed, with the little ones joyfully singing the birthday song and adding to the cheerful atmosphere.

The celebration was further enriched by the warm wishes and blessings of Rev. Fr. Godfrey D’Souza, our Rector, who conveyed his heartfelt greetings to Mrs. Griselda Fernandes on her special day. Towards the conclusion of the programme, Rev. Fr. Flovi D’Souza, our Principal, expressed his appreciation for Mrs. Griselda’s dedicated efforts and valuable contribution to the institution. He acknowledged her commitment, leadership and tireless service and thanked her for all that she does for the school community. His words were a fitting tribute to her dedication and sincere efforts. The Head Teacher then addressed the gathering and shared her thoughts and gratitude. Her words added warmth and meaning to the celebration.

As a final gesture of love and respect, a beautiful floral bouquet was presented to Mrs. Griselda Fernandes by a student, symbolising the affection, gratitude and warm wishes of the entire school community. The celebration concluded with heartfelt wishes for Mrs. Griselda Fernandes’ continued good health, happiness, peace and success in the years ahead.

Mrs. Tejashree Tatkare extended her sincere gratitude to the Management, staff and students for their gracious presence and for making the occasion truly special. It was indeed a joyful and memorable celebration, filled with love, appreciation, blessings and heartfelt wishes for our dear Head Teacher.
